My home group is the second edition group in Las Vegas, Nevada.

It meets at 6.45 in the morning, every morning of the week.

And if you are ever in Las Vegas, I hope you will come and join us.

I'm going to start by telling you just a little bit about my background so you know where I came from.

I was an only child to a father who was an alcoholic and a mother who was an untreated Al-Anon,

who to this day is still an untreated Al-Anon.

She's 102.

So I'm going to be around for a while.

My mother told my dad, she says,

if you quit drinking, I'll marry you.

So he quit drinking.

And for the 19 years that I was at home, he didn't drink.

But it was an alcoholic home.

There were no hugs.

We didn't do any really close relations.

My mother was Danish, and they don't, my Danish grandmother did not hug.

My dad was a Scot and he, he liked to hug, but he didn't hug because she had told him, don't hug.

So I grew up very alcoholically, even though he wasn't drinking.
