The show where two dudes, who are not quite nerds, but not quite news, choose a horror movie each week to rate and review. I'm Brian. I'm on the phone with Ashfin, and today we are discussing Tourist Trap from 1979, directed by David Schmuller, written by David Schmuller and Jay Larry Carroll, starring Chuck Connors,

Jocelyn Jones, John Van Ness, Robin Sherwood, and Tanya Roberts, with an uncredited cameo

from Linnea Quigley.

And in this film, some sexy young people experience car trouble on an isolated stretch

of road, as sexy young people tend to do in horror

films, and they seek help at a strange roadside museum. If you're new to the show, we will

discuss this movie spoiler-free for the first 15 or 20 minutes as we discuss some background

info around the movie. But after that, we're going to play some transition music and walk through

the plot in detail, spoiling things as we go. So once you hear that transition music, duck out and

go watch this. It's on Peacock and Prime and maybe one or two other places. And thank you to Ed M.

Who requested this movie. That request was seconded by our friend Ask Clap. Um, and this was a

movie I'd kind of been eager to cover and forgot it was on our request list. So here we are

getting around to it. Uh, it's a slasher. It's got a little bit of city versus country vibes to it.

I wouldn't put it necessarily in that urban oia or hillbilly horror bucket, but some

similarities I'm going to discuss here pretty soon.
