This morning, President Donald Trump announced he will double tariffs on aluminum and steel from Canada to 50%.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford was on CNN earlier to give his reaction.

It's disappointing, and I'll tell you the reason it's disappointing because Americans are going to pay more.

The U.S. only has the capacity of producing 16% of the aluminum they need.

There's going to be plants closed in the U.S. Assembly plants will shut down because they won't have the aluminum or they'll be paying twice three times as much.

Trump also announced he will match a 25% tariff on electricity that Ford announced on three U.S.

This afternoon, the House of Representatives is preparing for a crucial vote on a temporary government funding bill.

House Speaker Mike Johnson has already placed blame on Democrats, saying their refusal to back the measure is an attempt to, quote, shut the government down.
