He was spending a quiet day on the lake when all of a sudden his boat was attacked by the Loch Mest monster.

One easy flip, it tossed him and his boat high into the air, then it opened its mouth, waiting to swallow.

As the man tumble and head over heels, he cried out, God, help me. All at once, time stood still. The whole picture froze.

God said, but I didn't think you believed in me. The atheist said, God, please give me a break. Two minutes ago, I didn't believe in the Loch Mest monster either.

Hold up your bibles, say it like you mean it. This is my Bible. I am what it says I am. I have what it says I have. I can do what it says I can do.

Today I will be taught the Word of God. I boldly confess my mind is alert, my heart is receptive. I will never be the same in Jesus' name. God bless you.

I want to talk to you today about trusting God to do it his way. Every one of us has things we are believing for.

Situations we want to see change, dreams God put in our heart. If we are not careful, we will put God in a box and tell Him how to do it, and when to do it, and where to do it.

We have our plan of how God is going to answer our prayers and how he is going to get us out of debt and change our loved one. We get it all figured out.

But the problem with this is if it doesn't happen the way we want, we get discouraged and frustrated. God, I thought you were going to get me out of debt, but I didn't get that promotion.

I prayed six months. I thought for sure this man was the right one for me. I thought for sure this situation would turn around by now. I don't know what I've done wrong.

No, you may not have done anything wrong. It just wasn't God's plan. He has another way to bring that to pass.

The scripture says here in Isaiah 55, God's ways are not our ways. They are higher and better than our ways. If you don't get your way, if it doesn't happen on your timetable, instead of getting discouraged, why don't you believe that God has something better in store?

Because it doesn't happen your way, doesn't mean it's not going to happen. God has a plan. He's got it all figured out. But when we put God in our box, tell him how to do it and win to do it, all that does is limit him.

It's much better to say, God, I'm trusting you. I know you have my best interest at heart. And even if I don't get my way, I'm going to stay open and believe that you're still directing my steps.
