They're blinded by this desire for power that causes them to make decisions that ultimately are harmful to the American people or the foundational principles of our country.

The fundamental freedoms like freedom of speech, freedom of religion.

For me growing up, you just like this is just the way it is in America.

We are the live free or die country. We are supposed to be a beacon of freedom for the world.

But now we have people in congressional hearings saying that free speech doesn't apply to everybody.

You mentioned Bobby Kennedy,

told a little story in my book about his experience

in front of the Committee on the weaponization

of the federal government against the American people.

And I'm so glad that they formed this special committee

to expose this, because a lot of people aren't really

dialed in to what is going on, but is very dangerous and it is unraveling the

foundation of our Democratic Republic.

Thank you for coming. I know you have a book out and that's the easiest thing to lead with because really what I want to talk about the most is just this role of partisan politics because I'm not someone that's come from a lot of knowledge about politics at all. Like I

failed the Constitution test to get my GED because I was racing not because I wasn't

smart enough to finish school but and I barely passed in eighth grade so it's just not an area where I felt strong or called, but that's changed.

Now the strong and smart, I'm not yet, but the called feels true.

For love of the country is the name of your book and your

journey to leaving the Democratic Party. So how did that all go? Like was

what was the impetus for being a Democrat and then saying this isn't where I fit in or I

don't resonate with this anymore.
