Update

Fugitive Eric Arsino has been arrested and charged with the murder and dismemberment

of Maria Jimenez Rodriguez.

Members of the U.S. Marshal's Gulf Coast Violent Offender's Task Force made the arrest

in a Walmart parking lot in Southeast Houston on September 14, 2023.

The hunt for Arsino was profiled in Season 1, Episode 15, Texts from a Killer.

Initially, the statement that was provided by Eric Arsino to missing persons detectives

is that he was waiting for Maria that day to take him to a job interview at 9 o'clock

in the morning, and that she never arrived at the house.

And of course, through our investigation, we find that that's not true.

We did obtain footage of Eric Arsino walking through the store and also Eric Arsino purchasing

items.

We were able to identify the items to be a chainsaw and trash bags.

Investigators analyzed the data from Maria and Arsino's cell phones and eventually obtained

a search warrant for his home.

Police say they've gathered enough evidence to charge Arsino with murder more than a year

after Rodriguez was last seen a lot.

However, by the time the arrest warrant was approved, Arsino had fled and was on the run

for five years before the U.S. Marshal's were able to make an arrest, while police have

not yet revealed what ultimately led them to Arsino.

Maria's sister Gloria and her entire family say they are just thankful he's behind bars.

It's been five years of torture.
