People in the US are concerned about President Donald Trump's plans for the economy.

That's the finding of a new CNN poll, which says 55% of the public think his administration's

cuts to federal programs will do economic harm.

And about half say they think Trump's policies have already made the economy worse.

Concerns about the nation's economy is rising among Americans.

President Trump has acknowledged they will feel some pain

while he feverishly dismantles the United States government in its programs. Americans are just

about evenly split, 49 to 51 percent, over weather economic conditions one year from now, will be good.

But there is concern in this poll for the Trump administration. This is a seven-point swing in the wrong

direction. The biggest decline that he has seen in the swing was among critical independent voters.

The negative attitude is being driven by talks of recession fueled by Trump's tariffs, the real

feel of a declining personal savings in 401k's in ongoing inflation.

Federal workers caught up in the Trump administration's mass layoffs,

so they're now struggling to secure unemployment benefits.

One disabled veteran told CNN,

she's still waiting to be approved for benefits a month after losing her job.

As well as having to deal with performance being cited as the reason for their termination,

some workers are still waiting for the documents they need from their agencies.

And many State unemployment officers say they're strapped for staff and resources to handle the rising claims, slowing down the processing of applications.
