James 517 tells us that Elijah was a man subject to like passions as we are.

He lived and served God under a wicked king, and yet, in spite of the wickedness around him,

he was a man who not only walked with

God he had the power of God on his life in this study a man like us in times like

ours Scott Paulie will share encouragement from the life of Elijah that will help

Do you ever find yourself looking at life and thinking, what am I doing here? How did I get to

this place? Well, in 1st Kings 19, that is actually the question that God posed to his

prophet Elijah. Remember, Elijah ran to Horib the Mount of God. And in verse 9, it says, and he came

thither unto a cave and lodged there, and behold, the word of the Lord came to him, and he said,

unto him, what doest thou hear, Elijah? What a what a question and he said i've been very jealous for

the lord god of host for the children of israel have forsaken thy covenant thrown down thorn down throfts with

the sword and i even i only am left and they seek my life to take it away and he said go forth and stand upon

the mount before the lord, and behold, the Lord

passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains and break in pieces the rocks

before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind, and after the wind and earthquake,

but the Lord was not in the earthquake, and after the earthquake of fire, but the Lord

was not in the fire, and after the fire a fire but the Lord was not in the fire and after the fire

a still small voice perhaps you're looking for the Lord in the wrong places perhaps you're looking

for the Lord in some dramatic fashion when the Lord is just gently by his spirit whispering to you can

you hear the still small voice of God today?

And it was so, verse 13, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle,
