That music means it's the last radio hour of the week.

It's also the last hour

between me and my vacation, which is a every four ritual. I'm off next week. I'm great guest

host coming up. But the Hillsdale dialogue must go on. Now, I promised you last week when I talked

to Dr. Arn about the election, that we would go back to Plato with Professor O'T

and Dr. Arn. But I lied. Too much has

happened. And so I asked Dean Spalding, Dean Matt Spalding, who helms the graduate school on

statesmanship and the Kirby Center for Hillsdale inside the beltway in Washington, D.C., to step up and

look back over, and I want big takes here,

Dr. Spalding, big, big, big takes. I am astonished by this election. Let's start there.

What do you think happened? Well, first, I know going forward that I'm between you and your

vacation, so this puts me a very awkward position. But I'm going forward that I'm between you and your vacation, so this puts

we are literally in historic moments. When I watched election night and stayed up until three

o'clock in the morning, I have to say that I looked at it and I was somewhat kind of confident as to what was going to happen as a closer watcher of things.
