And I think that fear, the fear is behind so many of the reasons that we don't do things that we want to, you know, that we might get it wrong or, you know, we don't know all the answers before we again. Me Louise Fletcher. We are having a little bit of a catch-up today checking in with how the

summer is going, how the creative flow is going or not, and generally having a chat.

So what have you been up to since we last spoke?

Gosh, not much painting, tiny little bit of painting in between.

I have done a little bit of painting, but you know when you're feeling like you're having to squeeze it in and everybody with a full-time job can empathise with this where you are just squeezing in bits and sometimes working full time as an artist is like having a full time

and then doing some painting isn't it it's like all the other things you've got to do. There's been a lot of personal errands and looking after other people, things I've had to do and looking for my studio space has taken up some time which is all that's lovely you know but it's all time yeah and I've said this before but as you get into your

definitely into your 60s personal maintenance seems to take a huge amount of time it didn't before like oh got to see the foot doctor the

dentists and this and that and the optician and to and all those things. I think that's always there. I think that's always there.

It doesn't get worse as you get older though Alice wait and see you got another 10 years.

Yeah. But I think it's different things before that yeah

is my point is it might not be that but it's like so for me it was three rounds of

dentist appointments yeah you know it's the kids dentist appointments and Yeah, you know, it was like kids dentist appointments and

you had kids which is that is the difference I never had to do any of that so I got

spoiled in earlier life I think that's it. I didn't have kids. So I got

spoiled of kind of do what you want. You're healthy, you're running around, you're doing

everything. And I'm not unhealthy, don't worry about me everybody everybody but there's just more maintenance as you get older and and then I look at my mom and stepdad and I think oh God eventually it just becomes a round of hospital appointments and physical therapists and whatever.

So anyway, a lot of that and prepping, and this is funny, it's almost in the background it's only five weeks till I

launched my course and I'm prepping for that but that's almost a background thing in

everything else that's happening.

Luckily, I now have a team of people working with me that have been with me a while

and especially shout out to my assistant Jamie who's been with me for about four years now and I just get messages saying
