Hello, everyone, and welcome to Slash Film Daily. Today is Monday, November 4th, 2024. On today's

0:04.7

episode of the show, we're going to be talking about the weekend's box office numbers.

0:07.9

My name is Ben Pearson. I am an editor at slashfim.com, and I'm joined on today's episode by

0:12.2

Slashfilm staff writer and box office analyst Ryan Scott.

0:15.2

Hey, hey, everyone. How's it going? All right, so Ryan, lately we've tried to start these episodes by running through the top 10 at the domestic box office for the previous weekend. I would like to do something a little bit different today and talk about a movie that is not in the top 10. And as far as we know, doesn't have any reported box office data at all. 0:42.7

Yeah, let's talk about this is, especially in light of what we'll talk about here

0:47.6

with what happened at the box office this weekend outside of this.

cinematic legend behind films such as Unforgiven and Mystic River, aside from all the

1:00.0

westerns and everything else he starred in. Um, has a new movie out. It's called Juror number two.

1:04.5

It stars Nicholas Holt, Tony Collette, J.K. Simmons. It currently has a 91% approval rating

1:10.7

on Rotten Tomatoes. All signs point to this

1:14.6

being a damn good movie in one of Eastwood's best in a long time. Yet, what Warner Brothers

1:20.5

decided to do was it is being handled overseas, so it is getting a release overseas, but

1:25.5

domestically, 50 theaters give or take this weekend, but domestically, uh, 50 theaters,

1:28.0

give or take this weekend, and that's about it. Uh, they are refusing to report, uh,

1:33.4

domestic grosses, which is very atypical for, for a big studio and, and this kind of movie. So,

1:40.6

you know, that's more of a Netflix move, you know, like when they released Glass Onion.

1:47.3

Yeah, and that's it.

1:49.2

So, you know, there are some estimates that it made, you know, $90,000 on its first day or whatever.

1:55.5

But there's no, there's really no knowing.

1:58.2

Like, there's no knowing what the numbers are.
