In her absence and in honor of my book Fables and Spells,

I'm giving myself permission to go full witch this season

and having conversations with some of my favorite witchy teachers.

I'll also be reading you little bits and pieces

from the book as we go.

Now, what I mean by witch is people who work with elements

of the natural world, including human nature, to generate more possibilities.

Whitching is engaging the essential natural world with magic or supernatural intention.

The names for what I am including in which work are shamanism, sorcery,

seying, healing, herbalism, midwifery and dula labor, rootwork, conjuring, ritual, spellcasting, astrology and detonation, sound baths, altar building,

song channeling, all the work of building a direct relationship with the realm of the spirit, the holy, the ethereal.
