Well, I was a tennis player growing up. Some of you have heard that before, and I can

remember being eight years old and going to my first tennis tournament. Not like the

neighborhood tournament, but like the real tournament. You had to apply for online. You had

to train for a while. I had to show up at practice so many days in a row before dad would pay

the fee for me to get into the tournament. And I showed up at this tournament. I was eight

years old. I probably weighed 43 pounds. I had spent a lot of time picking out my outfit.

I had one racket that was as big as as tall as the rest of my body. And I got out of the

car and I walked up to this little table where you checked in to say, I'm here and I'm ready

for my match. Who am I playing and what court would you like me to go to? And when I did that,

they said, oh, if you'll go check the draw, you'll see where you're playing and who you're

playing, which I was eight. So I was like, okay, my coach was there with me and he said,

that's this thing over here on the wall. So we went over and looked on the wall. What looked

like this giant math equation that I couldn't understand. And we're looking for my name.

And all of a sudden, the first thing my coach says is, uh-oh. And I'm like, what do you mean?

Uh-oh. We're here. I got my racket. I got my shoes tied. I feel like it looked pretty good.

I've been training hard. This is our moment. What do you mean? Uh-oh. Anything you said,

have you found your name yet? And I said, no. And then he pointed out to me and then he pointed

out the name that was right above mine. And then he pointed out that to the left of the name

that was right above mine in parentheses was a giant number one. And I thought, uh-oh.
