Summary

Pastor Ben Stuart // We all love stories; tales of good and evil, legends of heroes and tragedies of villains. It's why we flood into bookstores and theatres, to escape into stories we believe could never be our own. β€” But here's the thing, many of us will walk through life without realizing that we are actually a part of the greatest story that has ever unfolded. The life, death, and resurrection of Jesus isn't isolated to scriptures and sermons, it's the moment where all of our stories went from hopeless to filled with possibility. β€” Afterall we are all guilty, separated from God by our sinful nature. A cursory glance around proves to you no matter what your thoughts on God that there is something broken in humanity. But Easter, Easter is the realization of the greatest Hero of all time. A Savior who took on the Cross for each of us; declaring the death of death and the beginning of Life for all who put their faith in Him.

I read an interview a couple years ago with the director, Jos Weedon.

0:25.5

He's the director of the famous Avengers movies, the first two.

0:29.5

He's gotten a name for himself being the guy who writes epic stories about real

jeopardy and set them free. He's made a name for himself and made a lot of money

writing movies like that. But Jos Weedon is also very public and very outspoken

atheist. As such, he stated that he doesn't believe there's any higher

0:52.9

purpose or meaning in the world or in the universe because there's no

higher being. And so he will tweet things like

0:59.0

everything is a drug. Your family, your arts, your causes, your shoes,

1:04.0

we're all just tweaking our chemicals to avoid the void. You know, real chipper

1:07.7

stuff like that. So in the interview I read, they were asking him, so you

1:13.0

you believe there's no purpose meeting in life. Yet over and over again when

1:18.1

you tap into your creativity, you write these stories about real evil that's

really bad and real good that rises up to change things. Where does that come

1:27.1

from? Why do you keep writing stories like that? If none of this means

anything and this is what he said and I'll quote him. He said, someone once asked

me if I had anything like faith and I said I have faith in the narrative.
