An escalating feud between a judge and Brazil and the Platform X has ended for now with the platform being banned in that country.

The appropriate question for U.S. lawmakers, how best to stand up for free speech and make sure that the US isn't giving an inch to foreign

Yeah, what's going on Brazil right now is it's pretty crazy.

The Supreme Court, the judicial court in Brazil has decided to ban X.

Users can no longer access that they have told the the app stores to ban to

ban future downloads of X and they eat in the order the judge in question a guy named Alexandria

Moraish I believe I'm pronouncing that correctly even tried to ban the

downloading of certain

the same time.

He later pulled back on that specific demand.

But he did also institute a $9,000,

approximately $9,000 penalty for any user, any X user in Brazil who uses a

VPN to get around the ban. Now this is because essentially X said look you're the this this this

judge Marais was coming kept coming back to X and saying I want you to remove

content that is often socially and politically relevant content.

It was often critical of the current government,

often directly critical of him and his decisions.

And he's because the X would not take down material that he wanted them to take down
