I can still remember sitting in our office we were newly wed we had only been

married for a few months I guess that's what newly wed means and I was sitting in the

office of our two-bed two-bath condo I think it was about 1,100 square feet and we had just moved in and I was sitting in our

office at my old school I don't even think it was a Macbook or a Macbook Pro I think it was like a

power book G4 silver laptop from Apple.

And I was sitting at this laptop that I had used all four years of college staring at an

Excel spreadsheet of one of our very first family budgets.

And I can remember when I was staring at that budget,

there was so much about it that made sense,

but there was so much about it that didn't.

For me, the part that made sense

as I was looking at our budget is I was like

okay so I got this paycheck from Amy's employer at that time I was I was in law school I later
