Good morning. Welcome to Sawcast number 36. This production of Sawcast is brought

conjunction with Saw Chronicles. My name is John Striker Meyer. I'll be your host

today and I'm joined today by Chad our technician. Welcome Chad and so we

want to talk today about Operation Tailwind which was one of the 28 year

sequel war was one of the most successful if not most successful hatchet

force operations which would be a company size operation outside of the area

of operations during this eight year sequel war. This occurred between September

11th and the 14th 1970 and we'll get into more detail on that and today we have

a unique perspective from the aviator who participated in that in that whole

four-day operation and on day one when they had an assertion several to

helicopters that were inserting the troops were shot up and we had not we

during the operation they used C853 Delta models Marine Corps

couriers that took the troops which would be 116 indigenous personnel from

FOB2 at CCC Central McVeaseog headquarters out of contum and they had 16

green berets that were on the ground with the team with different air assets

and because the target was so far west the Marine Corps brought in the C853

Delta and during the assertion gunships supported them with gun runs and one of

the gunships that was in the Marine Corps MLH 367 the cost sign was Scarface

and Scarface participated quietly in the sequel war unknown to most

Americans for almost entire sequel war providing air cover and this was one

of the more historic missions and reading her we're reading from a book
