The Hello and welcome to 10 days of Festafir, 2024, and we are on day number four. And I have two spooky stories for you today. And the last story comes from October the 16th, 2024. And story number one comes from Sarah.

I'm sensitive, always have been, as is my mum and Nana, so I have always sensed spirits,

get weird vibes about places and can read people in minutes, whether they're genuine or fake.

More of an empath, if you will. Listening to the

woman in the bay window story reminded me of an experience I had, which I'll get to. My first

experience was when I was about six. My mum and I lived with my grandparents in our Arts and

Crafts era house in Black Rock County Dublin.

I heard an old woman telling me to get out of my room coming from the old air vent.

I later found out that the previous owner before my grandmother bought the house, an old woman, had died and was in the house a few days before she was found by her sons. She must have stuck around as you'd hear footsteps coming down the stairs at night, and sometimes the tall, heavy, teak

door to the dining room would open up on its own, brass handle turning and all. It was always

a bit spooky, and I hated being upstairs on my own.

Fast forward to when I was 12, living on the other side of the country in Galway.

My nana had passed when I was six and my grandfather passed the year I turned 12, so the house went on the market.

Mum was doing a last check of the house before handing the keys to the estate agent for the new

owner, and I decided to stay in the car as I was bored.

I noticed our neighbour, Mrs. Elle, coming to her bay window on the other side of Nana's

semi-detached house. She was dressed in a fluffy robe and looked like she had woken up

from an afternoon nap.

She locked eyes with me and just kept staring at me for what felt like hours, but in reality

it was about five to seven minutes, before slowly walking back into her room after I gave her a wide-eyed

head bobbing. What the hell are you staring at? Look. When mum got back into the car,
