Well, talking to our kids about sex has never been easy,

and is certainly not getting any easier.

You know, there are some aspects of talking to kids about sex

that have always been present, like trying to figure out what words to

use and what details are appropriate to share with different kids in different ages or

setting boundaries around rooms and sleepovers but we also have some new challenges with the changing

sexual landscape of our world.

For example, when you and I were growing up, there was no discussion about whether your

gender or correlated with your biological sex.

We also didn't have to deal with smartphones, sexting or internet pornography.

So what does it look like to help kids today navigate these challenges?

Now here to help me talk through some of these issues as author and psychologist Dr.

Julia Sadusky.

Julia has recently written two books, one called Start Talking to

Your Kids About Sex and the other talking with your teen about sex. Now these are

great resources at helping add some perspective and nuance to conversations with kids around sexuality.
