0:06.1	areas of consensus amongst the entire political class left, right, and center is that after the
0:11.2	2024 election, we are clearly in the midst of a generational transition on the political scene.
0:16.9	We are going to have open primaries in both parties in 2028 and the recognition that the elderly state of the political establishments of both parties has left a lot of open space to be filled by new voices.
0:30.2	So I'm going to continue the realignment's tradition of focusing on new voices we're hearing more from by offering up today's interview with Michigan State Senator
0:38.3	Mallory McMorrow. Mallory first came to public notice back in 2022 when she gave a viral speech
0:45.2	rebutting a colleague in the Michigan State Legislature's attacks on her on culture war lines.
0:51.1	She then gave a big speech during the 2024 Democratic National Convention,
0:55.6	and now, many are saying she's considering jumping into the competitive Michigan Senate race in
1:01.3	2006. So I was interested to hear more about Michigan, a state we haven't covered on the show before,
