Big changes and uncertainty in Syria. I'm Kathleen Maloney, Fox News. Celebrations in Syria as the government under President Assad collapses. Rebels in Syria announcing that they have toppled the government ousting the president Bashar al-Assad and ending his family's regime of more than 50 years. Russian state news agencies are reporting

that President Assad has arrived in Moscow with his family, which has been given asylum.

Russia's foreign ministry also claims that Assad has ordered a peaceful handover of power.

The rebels are made up of a coalition of groups banded together to overthrow the regime.

The strongest group in the coalition is

HTS, which the U.S. is designated as a terror group. HTSS.'s leader, Abu Muhammad Al-Galani,

says this is a turning point for the Middle East and that there is no room for turning back.

Fox is Alex Hogan. President Biden calls the fall of the Assad regime a fundamental act of justice, but he warns

of the resurgence of a terrorist group. President Biden said this was a historic opportunity

for Syria, but also cautioned there's some risk of uncertainty with a U.S. designated terrorist

group leading that charge into Damascus to topple the Bashar al-Assad regime. Now, President Biden appeared to take a

victory lap talking about the U.S. role in Assad's downfall. U.S. bombers and strike aircraft took out

over 75 ISIS targets in central Syria, dropping 140 bombs to do it. Now, already there are reports

that Turkish-backed fighters in the north are fighting U.S.-backed Kurdish fighters in Syria.

And a Turkey, who's a NATO ally, of course, has been launching airstrikes against the Kurds.

Fox's Lucas Tomlinson, Syria's president Assad and his family have reportedly fled to Moscow.

President-elect Trump reacting on social media, posting Assad is gone.

He has fled the country. His protector, Russia, led by Vladimir Putin, was not interested in

protecting him any longer. America is listening to Fox News.
