Welcome back, everyone.

0:27.4

Today I'm very excited to share with you the updates we've made at the clinic to the

0:31.1

functional medicine model that we are using, and hopefully this can help you if you're

0:36.0

looking for a provider and try to get some insights into what, as this field of study is constantly evolving, we feel the best inclusion and exclusion of various practices, tests, treatments looks like.

0:53.1

And to lead with one stat here, 75% of people in the population,

0:59.2

they will use complementary and alternative medicine at some point in their life. So there are many

1:04.8

people who are looking for a non-drug approach, or maybe they've seen their conventional doctor, which is all fine and good,

1:12.9

had a screening, and either been told there was nothing wrong with them, or again, didn't

1:17.3

really resonate with or feel good on what is oftentimes more of a pharmaceutical-dominated model.

1:26.1

So today, here's what I would love to cover, and I'm eager to share with you,

1:31.8

in summary, that we have extended our visit lengths, and I'll explain why that is in a moment,

1:38.7

both for our initial exam and intake to 90 minutes and our routine follow-up visits to 45 minutes.

1:46.5

We've cut out certain tests and focused on others instead, and this is an ongoing area of

1:53.6

importance for certain. We've also integrated validated questionnaires, which I think have such a

2:00.7

huge place but don't tend to be

2:04.4

integrated as much. And this is probably in part due to financial pressures. There's just so

2:10.5

much incentive for labs to fund seminars and dinners and webinars and whatever. So there's much more availability of

2:20.7

data regarding labs and much less for questionnaires. And we'll cover one in a moment,

2:26.9

the FRDQ7, that predicts response to antifungal therapy for zero dollars and what takes maybe three minutes to fill out.
