and into the film world in a way that few people had done before Charles Busch did it, and today we're going to talk all about that.

How are you doing? I'm doing fine now that I can hear your voice. Wait, did I make that up?

Did you direct any of your films, or am I just conflating things? Am I just making that up in my head?

Right, actually, no, no, no. I've directed, well, I've just directed my third movie that's just going to be released, actually.

Oh wow.

In about a week, yes.

Charles, you are a living legend in so many circles. You're a constant inspiration to Deila and I in our pursuits of our own endeavors.

I don't even know where to start. Okay, so you are a drag performer, but you are also very well known for films that you wrote, acted in.

You played female characters, so not any wink or nod to the fact that you were in drag for the role. These characters were just female characters that you played to a tee.

My first introduction to you was the film Die Mommy Die. So if we may, can we start there? How did Die Mommy Die come to be?

Well, let's see here. I was doing, I was about to shoot the movie of Psycho Beach Party, which was also based on a play of mine. I was going to LA based in New York.
