Here's the deal. For 450 million years or so animals and plants have been at war. Herbivorous animals want to eat plants, plants must evolve spikes, hard shells, and defense chemicals if they want to survive and pass on their DNA.

Simple as that. Plants are FULL of defense chemicals. Herbivorous animals have evolved many ways to deal with these, animal-based omnivores like humans possibly have not...

Not all vegetables will kill you dead instantly when you eat them, but why eat survival food when you can eat organs, meat, and the less toxic parts of plants like fruit??

1:02.1	and they have to shadow ban me all the time and also they're bullshit. So let's give the Instagram
1:06.3	bots a break and talk about nutrition and plant toxicity. So you're welcome Instagram. So when we
1:16.2	are thinking about this topic of plant toxicity, the first thing to realize is that there's really no
1:22.8	debate about the fact that plants make defense chemicals. There are so many chemicals that are made
1:30.8	by plants that are defense chemicals that it's really not even a question. This is an incontrovertible
1:37.8	statement. I want to share some studies that I find quite interesting. This one is animal plant
1:42.4	wear fair and secondary metabolite evolution. It's quite an interesting paper talking about the
1:48.8	really long history, 450 million year co-evolution of plants and animals and the multiple, the
1:57.5	thousands, hundreds of thousands of millions of chemicals that plants have evolved as defense
2:01.8	mechanisms and then the subsequent responses that animals have evolved including phase one and
2:08.5	phase two detoxification systems, which are things like the cytochrome P450 monooxygenases and all
