What is up you guys welcome to another edition of Controversial Thoughts. I just got

0:06.3

done recording a podcast with my friend after this past month, George St. Pierre,

0:13.1

who is currently looking pretty damn ripped on an animal-based diet. So I thought

0:23.6

that this was a good time to do a Controversial Thoughts episode about how to

0:28.8

use an animal-based diet for performance. I get a lot of questions, how do I gain

0:35.6

weight on a carnivore or animal-based diet, how do I gain muscle, how do I use

0:40.7

this if I am a performance athlete? I guess all athletes are performance but if

0:45.4

I'm a CrossFit athlete, if I am a competitive Jiu-Jitsu athlete, I'm sure I have a

0:49.2

lot of MMA athletes and aspiring MMA athletes and martial artists finding

0:55.2

interest in this way of eating after George's experiences. So when it's talk a

0:59.0

little bit about that in this week's episode of Controversial Thoughts, I will

1:03.6

start out with a picture of George. He's looking pretty freaking shredded after a

1:09.8

month on an animal-based diet. In the podcast that we just did, he said that he

1:15.1

lost about four to five pounds of probably water weight related to inflammation

1:21.0

and overall just swelling and water retention that happens when you are eating

1:28.0

foods that are causing inflammation foods that are probably causing some

1:31.9

degree of leaky gut, foods that are causing some degree of immunologic

1:35.0

activation. So look for the podcast with George St. Pierre coming out on Tuesday

1:39.6

of next week. Interestingly, he also talked about the fact in the podcast that

1:43.8

he has a big toe injury that has kind of nagged him for a while and he was

1:48.9

training throughout his month on an animal-based diet and he eventually after a

1:54.4

week or two noticed that the big toe wasn't bothering him anymore, especially
