Greetings young Squiresire Sprouts. Today is the eighth day in the third month in the year of our Lord 2025. My name is Sir Roland Paterlot, and you're listening to Saturdays with

Sir Rowland on Catholic Sprouts where every Saturday we discuss the art of Dragon's Sling. Today we celebrate the feast of

St. John of God. And since we're in the season of Lent, I think John's advice is great for us this time of

year. He said, we owe three things to God, love, service, and reverence. We must love him as our

heavenly father above all else in the world. We must serve him as our master,

not so much because of the reward he promises, but because of his goodness. We must reverence him as our

maker, never pronouncing his holy name except to thank him and bless him. So I hope your lent is off to a

great start. If you haven't heard, I'm reading my seven book series on the Seven Deadly Dragons out loud for all of you inside our new streaming platform, dragonslayers.

And this week we read the Red Dragon of Pride.

as we will leave the videos up for free all through Lent. Stories are a powerful way to grow in our

faith and learn virtue, so in addition to reading the Seven Deadly Dragons book series,

I'm going to be focusing on the story of salvation this Lenton season. Each week on the podcast,

I'm going to tell you a little bit of the story of salvation and focus on one or two Bible

characters. Each of these Bible characters were attacked by certain dragons. Some of them were

wounded badly. Some of them had great victories. But all of them were a foreshadowing of Jesus, the one true light of the world that fulfills every character in a perfect way and makes the whole story fit together.

Today our focus is on the red dragon of pride and the character of Adam. In the beginning, God created the whole world. And right from the beginning, we see the importance of the number seven.

On the sixth day, God created man from the dust of the ground.
