Hello there, Sprouts. Today is Monday, March 10th, and my name is Jill Simons, and I am so excited to be with you all week this week talking about something so beautiful within the church,

which is charisms. Now, that might be a new word

for a lot of you, and that's okay. That's what we're going to be talking about all week.

This week, we're going to talk about what charisms are, why we have them, why God gives them out,

which ones you might have, and how you can continue to be open to the Holy Spirit helping you grow

in these things as you continue to grow. So to begin, what is a charism? A charism is a special kind of

grace given to us freely by God. So that means we don't have to do anything to earn it. We don't have

to prove that we're good enough before we get it. It's a grace given to us by God for the good

of the church. This is something that gives us a clue, a window into why it is that God placed you in the world right now in this time in history

and made you exactly who you are. Your charisms show us what it is that you are meant to bring

to the church and bring to the world. Anyone who is baptized has received at least one charism.

These are things that you can do better than most other people.

This is kind of like, in a sort of way, kind of like your spiritual superpower.

This is something that God has given to you to give to

other people. And it's so cool because God made us to need each other. Your other friends and family

members need you to use your charisms, your gifts, to serve them, just like you need them to use their gifts

to serve you. And that is why the organization I run is called Many Parts Ministries. You might

remember from listening to the gospel at Mass a reading where they talk about how the church is one body with many parts. And that's

where our name comes from. Because just like puzzles or the human body, the body of Christ has all
