0:13.1	We're continuing our downward spiral of Israel's judges after yesterday's tragedy with
0:17.8	Gideon's son, Abimelek, and today we encounter six bad judges.
0:23.2	The first two barely get a mention.
0:24.9	There was Tola from the tribe of Issaqar who lived among the tribe of Ephraim for some
0:28.6	reason.
0:29.6	Then there was Jar the Gileadite.
0:31.9	Gilead is a region in the Transjordan.
0:34.2	So this is our first judge from across the Jordan River.
0:37.6	When you read the term Gileadite, just know that's a reference to an Israelite from the
0:41.2	Transjordan, not one of their many enemies.
0:45.1	Then we see that the people of Israel are falling into apostasy again.
0:48.9	In fact, we get seven groupings of other gods that they're beginning to worship.
0:53.2	It looks like they'll worship anything.
0:54.8	They don't discriminate at all.
0:57.4	Abimelek goes angry with them and sells them into the hands of two other people groups,
1:01.1	the Philistines and the Ammonites.
1:03.5	They oppress them for 18 years on the east side of the Jordan River, and they also fight
1:07.4	against them on the west side of the Jordan River.
1:10.0	Finally, Israel sees the error of their ways and they repent.
1:13.8	But this time, God tells them that things are going to happen differently.
1:17.1	He's not just going to raise up a judge to save them like he's done in the past.
