Have we made our father's house the den of robbers,

which literally means a safe place for those who steal?

The thing that we are all the best at.

All of us is deception.

We're breaking his heart, my friends, because when we do that, we look nothing like him.

It doesn't matter how big our places are, how much money they have, how much fame they have,

how many other good things they do.

When we cover ourselves with deception about abuse in the house of our God by His people,

we are damaging God himself, not to mention His lands. I want to say one thing before I speak to you, and I'm speaking to you about the church,

which I suppose comes as no surprise, and the devastation that she has wrought.

But those of you who know some things about my story and my life, whatever, read things,

know that my father, who was a colonel in the Air Force, and dropped paratroopers over Normandy

in World War II, and bright, very coordinated man ended up with Parkinson's later in life and couldn't get himself up

out of a chair or do anything. And I learned from him the thought that a body that does not follow its head is a very sick body. And it is that picture

that has come back to me again with the church. For so much of the church is not following its head.

I think parts of the church don't even know him.

And we're breaking his heart.

So I want to talk to you today about some of that.

And we're going to focus on I want to talk to you today about some of that.

And we're going to focus on the important point of deception.

I know you're all excited about that.

It's such a great thing to think about.
