about the stress tolerance. So without further ado, there was a fascinating study by addiction psychologist Marcel Bon Miller who studied individuals with substance dependence.

And he was interested in determining why certain people succeed in achieving

meaningful lengths of abstinence while others very quickly relapse?

And the answer was different degrees of distress tolerance

was the significant or salient factor in determining which people would maintain

sobriety and which ones would become overwhelmed by withdrawal symptoms and

relapse. 63% would relapse within days of quitting,
