in from a brisk walk outside and what's kind of cool is that that is our topic for today's

podcast, Walking for Weight Loss, a definitive guide to weight loss by walking.

Right, and I guess we should start with the elephant in the room and that is walking

kind of is seen as a big loser in the fitness and health world compared to other forms of

exercise. Right, because there are two beliefs or two cults in the weight loss and fitness

industry. One is it's all about the calories, you know, calorie deficit, calorie intake,

and then the other camp is the all about hormones camp and walking doesn't really weigh heavily

in either of those categories. Right, when you think about it, walking doesn't burn

a lot of calories compared to something like running or cycling or rowing or pretty much

any other form of exercise. And on the other side, it doesn't really flood the body with

adrenaline and growth hormone and testosterone and other hormones that are generally seen

as beneficial for fat loss. So on the surface, weight loss does appear to be a loser and

that is so unfortunate because it really has fallen out of favor for some of these more

intense forms of exercise. And I think I think a lot of us have been hammered into thinking

I must work hard to find results. And the truth is walking isn't hard.
