And you told me this time we have a very serious topic.

We have a strong topic, a tough topic, but an important topic, and that is church discipline.

We're publishing a new journal on that topic called Church Discipline, Medicine for the

Body, and so we thought we would do a pastor's talk to accompany that.

And you've written a good book on that in the Healthy Church Series.

Why did you pick discipline as one of the nine marks, not the nine marks, but, you know, nine marks?

One of the ones that I heard about.

Because I think when we just affirm church membership positively, without talking about how church

membership can be involuntarily ended, that the person who is in unrepentantant sin can have

their membership, as it were, revoked, then we've not really written anything very clear.
