My guest on today's podcast is someone I consider a mentor to me, Dr. Daniel Parkinson.

Hello, good morning.

Back in 2016, when I decided to be an ally and was looking for help, I was posting

a little bit on Facebook about supporting LGBTQ Latter-Dy Saints and this, and Daniel Parkinson

reached out to me.

I scrolled back in all our messages, Daniel, and on 16th of August,

2016, Daniel Parkinson started to connect me with Facebook groups that were just extraordinarily

helpful for me. One of them, I'm sure Daniel will talk about is a book he's, a Facebook group.

He started for parents, LDS parents of LGBTQ kids called I'll walk with you. We'll put that in

the show notes. And I joined that group. They let me in even know I'm not a parent of an LGBT

kiddo and really helped me to understand the space. And he kept pointing me and navigating me to

groups that would be helpful. And I just recognize this is someone that cares so much about LGBTQ youth and recognized I as an ally in the church could be a voice of support.

And I just think that's reflective of Dan's heart.

And the book he's written and the work he does.

He's a doctor of psychiatry.

He lives in Minnesota.

He grew up in Ogden.

We are the same age, 63.

I'm nine months older, so there.

And the book he is going to talk about is a book he's written called Gender Revealed,
