Hello, welcome back to Scripture Central.

We're excited to talk about Ether's Chapter 6 through 11 today.

I'm Jack Welch, and we're happy to be here.

These chapters contain some weird material, you know?

That's a good way of saying it.

There's some themes, though, in this week's lesson that I'd like to just mention initially,

if we serve God, we'll be happy.

But if we do not, we will have to suffer divine retribution.

You know, it's either or.

The theme of the ocean crossing again and this immigration,

theme of monarchy and the challenges and iniquity and warfare that come with excessive power, secret

combinations, huge message here in the Book of Ether, prophets, the opposition between blessings

and cursings from God, the power of faith, hope, and charity, and the transformation

that occurs with humility. And then Maronai is intimidated by the beauty of the Jaredite language.

We get some Moronai statements too.

But that's sort of an overview of our few chapters here today.

Let's begin, I think.

A good place to start would be way back in the book of Mosaic,

where we learn a little bit about the translation of the 24 plates.

And if you go to Mosaic chapter 28, verse 17, we have this description of the 24 gold plates of ether. And they gave an account of the people
