Dinosaur SCPs

0:02.0

Dinosaur fossils have been found by humans for millennia, with early civilizations

0:10.0

believing them to be the bones of various great creatures, such as dragons or giants.

0:16.0

Dinosaurs have fascinated us for hundreds of years, however, and in many ways they exist as sort of a real-world anomaly compared to modern civilization.

0:27.6

These are creatures that lived millions upon millions of years ago, in a world that we would hardly recognize, and will likely never see one in the flesh.

0:39.4

Instead, most people's exposure to dinosaurs comes from fictional works,

0:44.7

films such as Jurassic Park and King Kong,

0:48.2

often featuring man being introduced to dinosaurs with disastrous results.

1:00.0

In this video, we're going to be looking at a handful of SCPs related to dinosaurs. And while they're all certainly odd, as SCPs always are, the dinosaurs themselves are not really the odd parts about them.

1:09.0

Let's start with perhaps the most classic dinosaur SCP on the wiki, SCP 250.

1:16.9

250 is the animate fossil skeleton of an allosaurus, consisting of 153 disarticulated bones

1:25.7

and 14 plaster and fiberglass replacements, held together and animated by an unknown force.

1:34.3

Study of this force is hindered by the dinosaur's aggressive behavior, which is well within the theoretical norms for an allosaurus.

1:43.0

It also emulates what are presumed to have been the standard daily activities of a living

1:48.2

allosaurus, including wandering its enclosure by day, entering a dormant state at night,

1:54.7

and attempting to kill and devour anything which it perceives as suitable prey, including

2:00.4

humans.

2:02.1

Its lack of organs does not seem to affect its behavior in any way, except that anything

2:07.6

it consumes will inevitably fall out of the gaps in its skull, neck, and rib cage, at which

2:14.1

point it ignores them.

2:16.5

It was first excavated as an 80% complete skeleton, showing no anomalous traits,

2:21.3

at which point it was transferred to a museum, assembled, and mounted.
