In this podcast, Dr. Berg talks about the flight or fight mechanism in vitamin B1. ANS or Autonomic Nervous System is a system that adapts the body’s organs to its environment. There’s two main divisions of the autonomic nervous system; the parasympathetic and sympathetic. Under stress for a long time could cause sympathetic dominant that could affect the quality of sleep and no longer in safe mode. Some of the common symptoms of sympathetic dominant are anxiety, panic attacks and nightmares. The autonomic nervous system needs a lot of vitamin B1, it is one of the most important vitamins in the general nervous system. The deficiency of vitamin B1 is identical to the failure of the autonomic nervous system function.
