Thank you for having me. It's good to see you. I don't think we've never met or spoke have we, but I've seen your tweets all the time and like a lot of what I'm seeing.

I don't believe we have spoken for yeah but likewise.

Cool. Okay so maybe before we get into your background and what it is you do, maybe you can let people know who you are what keeps you busy.

Yeah sure so hi everyone my name is Nurea and yeah I'm a third generation British

Pakistani I'm currently working in the domestic violence sector, but in my spare time I run a

YouTube channel where I kind of do activism to do with the ex-Muslim movement and kind of just

raising awareness about Islam in general as an ideology and its relevance in the

21st century really and especially its impact on women and children.

Yeah that's a great point. I think that's the first thing I was going to pick up on because I

spend a lot of time criticizing Islam and Islamism, jihadism, whatever makes people feel most comfortable, I suppose.

And I get quite a lot of accusations throw my way for this and I, but when I look at kind of the vitriol and abuse that comes

towards ex-Muslims especially female ex-Muslims that that seems on a completely

different level to me so I suppose my first question is why,

I mean first I think it's very brave for somebody

to be speaking out on this topic

from within that community who's got that background

of leaving the religion.

What made you decide to put your face to this

and speak out publicly in an area which can get very tricky?
