If you're pray that prayer, God please take this away from me.

You're not praying the wrong prayer. This is a really important to understand.

Hi, my name's Father Mike Schmitz and this is a sense of

process. Really? I know the reality that so many of you have encountered real pain in your life.

That could be physical pain, it could be emotional and moral pain, spiritual pain, it could be grief.

So many of you have been devastated by illness,

devastated by loss, devastated by worry.

Why doesn't God take that away?

Like, God, if you're good, could you please deliver me from this pain?

Could you deliver me from this suffering?

Could you deliver me from this grief?

Could you save me, save me from this?

Whatever it is, is overwhelms us.

If you pray that prayer that says, God, take this from me,

this is overwhelming.

That's not the wrong prayer.

Jesus himself prayed that prayer.

When he said, Father, let this cup pass from me,

but not my will, your will be done.

So if you have ever been so overwhelmed, in such pain, have been so grieved that you've prayed

that God take it away, that's not the wrong prayer. But we realize, of course, there are times when we

prayed that prayer and God doesn't take it away, just like when Jesus prayed that
