Summary

Today on Oversharing, Dr. Naomi and Jordana discuss the heaviness we’ve all been feeling this week, including how they’re each coping with the daily news coming out of the Middle East. A “Mr. Betch” writes in for advice on how to fight fair in his relationship. How do you stop yourself from letting things escalate with a significant other? The Betchicist question comes from a long-distance bestie who fears puppy love (aka an unexpected gift) may not be the answer. Dr. Naomi offers an intention for a scorned Betch to keep her off the voodoo doll. How do you get past your hatred for an ex? Finally, we are truly triggered by moms this week. Can we all just get along? Listen in to find out. Check out our latest promo codes here: https://betches.com/promos Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Hello and welcome back to oversharing. I'm Jordana Abraham and I'm Dr. Naomi Bernstein.

0:21.1

We're back. It's been a bit of a weird weekend. We record these a week in advance.

0:26.1

So we're coming off emotionally stressful three day weekend, I would say.

0:30.8

Totally. It's funny because one of the last recordings we had, I was like, I'm feeling heavy

0:35.0

and we had this kind of like heavy start. And then today it feels like there's a heavy,

0:40.7

heaviness to it too. So, you know, we had a back and forth about how and if to go there.

0:48.1

Because I want this show to be calming and I want it to be a release, a release,

0:54.0

and a relief and a place to come to feel like more centered. So the last thing that we want

0:59.6

is to have this be charged or upsetting or activating. You know, it's tough to know how to

1:08.0

address this in a way that's, you know, with our listeners best interests at heart.

1:14.2

Obviously, we're referring to the Israel Gaza situation for those of you that picked up on that

1:20.1

piece. And yeah, again, we were, we record these a week in advance. I don't know what the

1:25.2

situation will be by the time it is aired. But up until now, it just seems like you just hear

1:30.5

worse and worse things every day. It's very like emotionally heavy. Do you discuss this with like

1:40.2

your patients? Like, how does, how does this make its way into your life besides the obvious?

1:44.1

Well, it's funny because with all the political stuff, like the election stuff and the

1:50.8

democratic republican, I'm pretty neutral. And I think my patients love that. Like, I am open

1:58.7

to hearing everything and I'm very neutral and my body can remain calm. Like, I could be talking to

2:07.6

you know, someone on the right and I can stay calm and someone on the left and I can stay calm.
