In the first chapter of your book, you say that you went to visit the Native American tribe,

0:03.5

and I'm going to try and pronounce this, the Tarahumah.

0:07.3

Tarahumara.

0:08.4

And they're famous for their long running.

0:11.0

Yes.

0:11.5

What did you learn about running from them?

1:12.9

Native American tribes. Everybody had long-distance races and ballgames, and they all had a spiritual

1:18.7

element. It's just that they've retained their traditions because they're in a very remote

1:24.4

1:28.7

We all used to do this.

1:29.9

All humans used to do this.
