Welcome back to pursuing health. In this episode I sit down with Steph Hammerman, who many know

as an adaptive athlete and Cross Fit trainer. However, Steph is currently in the middle of a very tough battle with lymphoma.

to consistently overcome obstacles since she was born.

She was born three months premature and has been defying the odds of what it looks like to live

with cerebral palsy ever since.

She had a background in hand cycling and finally stumbled

upon Crossfit in 2012. It wasn't long after that that she became the first female

adaptive athlete to earn her Crossfit level one trainer certificate and

begin coaching.

I first watched staff compete in 2013 and since then she has worked to advocate for opportunities

for adaptive athletes to compete at large events, including the first ever adaptive athlete division, which occurred at Watapalooza in 2015.
