A few blocks from where I was staying, a black man named Orlando Figueira was burned alive in 2017 after being identified as a Chavez supporter. And this was caught on camera and it was a real turning point for people in Venezuela.

So I talked about the cultural clash.

I didn't even know about that and I mean I try to be somewhat informed.

I mean just Google Orlando Figueira and who was responsible for that?

The opposition protesters from what you would call the Guarim

Veros took place in Chakau, Altamira,

which is an upscale area, which is the financial district of Karakas.

The main opposition leader to that point,

Leopoldo Lopez, who is an aristocrat,

direct descendant of Venezuela's first president,

light skin, white guy, he was the mayor.

I mean, this happened under his watch.

All kinds of right-wing terror happened under the watch

of all of these opposition leaders.

But this is the most heinous because it was caught on camera.

And it was just a black man walking down the street

and they said, Chavista, they poured gas on him and burned him as he ran down the street.

And so you know for people watching that, people watching that in the barrios, people watching that

across the country who weren't part of this opposition bubble,
