Mohsen Mahdawi DEFENDED By Jewish Israeli Classmate + Lee Camp & Alex Kane

Katie talks about Mohsen Mahdawi, the SECOND Palestinian Columbia student unlawfully arrested with one of his Jewish American-Israeli classmate Aharon Dardik and journalist Alex Kane. Aharon talks about moving from the U.S. to the West Bank where he and his family were settlers, and then going to prison for refusing to serve in the IDF. Alex talks about his investigation into who funds The Canary Mission. Then Katie talks to political comedian Lee Camp about Ben Shapiro and trying to do comedy in this insanity. Aharon Dardik is an Israeli-American ex-settler, conscientious objector to the Israeli military, and nonviolent activist. He is currently getting his undergraduate degree in both Philosophy and Political Science at Columbia University, where he founded Columbia Jews for Ceasefire in the wake of the Israeli military’s response to the October 7th attacks. Aharon is a close friend of Mohsen and a partner in their peace efforts, hoping to bridge the Israeli and Palestinian communities together towards a shared future. Their work together has ranged from trying to craft Columbia campus policy changes that would be supported by both the Jewish and Palestinian communities, to crafting the framework for an Israeli-Palestinian peace plan designed to meet the needs of all the inhabitants of the land. Alex Kane is a senior reporter at Jewish currents and has also reported on The Canary Mission for The Intercept. Lee Camp is the former host of Redacted Tonight and current host of Unredacted Tonight on YouTube. He used to perform comedy with Katie Halper! ***Please support The Katie Halper Show *** For bonus content, exclusive interviews, to support independent media & to help make this program possible, please join us on Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/thekatiehalpershow Get your Katie Halper Show Merch here! https://katiehalper.myspreadshop.com/all Follow Katie on Twitter: https://x.com/kthalps Follow Katie on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/kthalps/

Israel BREAKS Ceasefire With Human Rights Lawyer Craig Mokhiber & Palestinian Journalist Said Arikat

Katie talks to Human Rights lawyer Craig Mokhiber and Palestinian-American journalist Said Arikat about Israel's relaunched genocide, Zionism's war on free speech and Human Rights, and the attacks on Yemen. Craig Mokhiber is an American former United Nations (UN) human rights official and a specialist in international human rights law, policy, and methodology. On October 28, 2023, Mokhiber stepped down as the director of the New York office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). In his final letter to High Commissioner Volker Türk, he harshly criticized the organization's response to the war in Gaza, calling Israel's military intervention a "textbook genocide" and accusing the UN of failing to act. Said Arikat is a Palestinian journalist and Washington bureau chief for Al-Quds, a daily Newspaper which has been published out of East Jerusalem (uninterruptedly) since 1951. In addition to his work as a journalist, Arikat is an adjunct professor at the American University. He served as the United Nations Chief Spokesman in Iraq from 2005-2010. Irish Republican Danny Morrison, Gaza’s Asad Abushark & Holocaust Survivors Against Genocide

Katie, who is in Europe interviewing Holocaust survivors protesting the Gaza genocide, plays a clip from her recently recovered footage (we thought it had been lost) of a live show she recorded in Dublin in July about the connection between Palestine and Ireland. Sadly, it’s just as relevant now as it was then. For the full discussion, please join us on Patreon at - https://www.patreon.com/posts/patreon-full-124164727 The live show featured Danny Morrison, a writer and former republican prisoner from West Belfast. He was national director of publicity for Sinn Féin in the 1980s and is the secretary of the Bobby Sands Trust. It also featured Asad Abushark, a Palestinian-Irish academic from Gaza and an international spokesperson of the Great March of Return . They co-edited the book A SHARED STRUGGLE: Stories of Palestinian & Irish Hunger Strikers. The Patreon only version features hilarious Irish comedian Tadhg Hickey. Then Katie plays an interview with three members of the London-based organization Holocaust Survivors and Descendants against the Gaza Genocide: Stephen Kapos is an artist and Holocaust survivor; Agnes Kory is a musician, scholar and Holocaust survivor ; and Haim Bresheeth is a historian, filmmaker and the son of two Holocaust survivors. All three feature in Katie’s documentary about Holocaust survivors and their descendants working to end the genocide in Gaza. Haim was ARRESTED for saying at a protest that Israel was not going to defeat Hamas. And earlier this month Stephen was QUESTIONED by London police. Speaking of the criminalization of speech when it comes to Palestine, we MUST ALL demand the immediate release of Mahmoud Khalil, a legal resident of the U.S. and recent Columbia University graduate who was still living in university housing who who has been abducted by Trump’s ICE in what the president vows is “the first arrest of many to come.” Khalil, who was born in Syria to Palestinian refugee parents, was one of the negotiators representing student demonstrators during talks with Columbia University’s administration. But first, award-winning reporter William N. (Bill) Proctor, and activist and streamer discuss the case of Temujin Kensu, who has been wrongfully imprisoned for 37 years for a murder that was committed more than 400 miles away from where Kensu was. Miko Peled is an author, writer, speaker, and human rights activist living in the United States. He is the author of "The General's Son: Journey of an Israeli in Palestine" and "Injustice: The Story of the Holy Land Foundation Five." He is considered by many to be one of the clearest voices calling for justice in Palestine, support of the Palestinian call for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) and the creation of a single democracy with equal rights in all of historic Palestine. Educated in Jerusalem, Japan and the United States, Peled is also an accomplished professional martial artist. His passion for redressing this injustice led Bill to found Proving Innocence in 2007. In May 2013, Bill "retired" and started Bill Proctor and Associates, a communications consulting firm. He also shares memories of interviewing the slain Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. AbuKhalil also reflects on the elections and the difference (or lack thereof) between Joe Biden and Donald Trump when it comes to foreign policy. But first Omali Yeshitela, the founder of the African People's Socialist Party (APSP) and Uhuru Movement discusses why he and two other members of Uhuru have been convicted of conspiring to act as unregistered Russian agents, in an outrageous miscarriage of justice and a McCarthyite attack on free speech. Given that Joe Biden has pardoned his own son, something he promised not to do, he might as well pardon people who actually deserve it, like Leonard Peltier, Mumia Abu Jamal, Julian Assange, and the Uhuru Movement members, including Omali Yeshitela. He should of course also pardon anyone serving jail for the crimes committed by Hunter. Born in Tyre, Lebanon, Asad AbuKhalil received his BA and MA in political science from the American University of Beirut, and his PhD in comparative politics from Georgetown University. He is the author of Historical Dictionary of Lebanon, Bin Laden, and The Battle for Saudi Arabia, among other titles, and his articles on Middle Eastern politics and culture have appeared in publications throughout the world. AbuKhalil lives in California, where he is a professor of political science at California State University, Stanislaus. Omali Yeshitela is the founder of the African People's Socialist Party (APSP) and Uhuru Movement. In 1968 Chairman Yeshitela founded The Burning Spear newspaper which is still published today. He has authored numerous articles, pamphlets and books. Chairman Omali made “reparations a household word” with the International Tribunal on Reparations for African People which was held in Brooklyn, New York in 1982, finding that African people are owed 4.1 trillion dollars for stolen labor in the U.S. alone. The Chairman founded the International People’s Democratic Uhuru Movement in 1991 as a revolutionary mass organization to defend the democratic rights of the African working class. Today, Chairman Omali Yeshitela, as the leader of the African Socialist International, speaks to his growing base around the world and leads the worldwide movement for the liberation of Africa and African people everywhere. Jewish Tenured Prof FIRED Over Tweet, Palestine Documentary BANNED By Israel

Then Katie talks to Rami Younis, a Palestinian writer, journalist, activist and co-director of "Lyd," a science fiction documentary he co-directed about the once-thriving Palestinian city of Lyd. Rami reacts to Israel's recent decision to ban the film. Maura Finkelstein is a writer, ethnographer, and associate professor of anthropology. She is the author of The Archive of Loss: Lively Ruination in Mill Land Mumbai, published by Duke University Press in 2019. Her writing has also been published in Anthological Quarterly, City and Society, Cultural Anthropology, Anthropology Now, Post45, Electric Literature, Allegra Lab, Red Pepper Magazine, The Markaz Review, the Scottish Left Review, Mondoweiss, and Al Jazeera. She has been nominated for a Pushcart (2021), was a finalist for the Witness literary award (2022), was a Tin House Scholar (2023), and was recently the recipient of the 2024 New Directions Award from the General Anthropology Division (GAD) of the American Anthropological Association. Rami Younis is a Palestinian filmmaker, writer, journalist and activist from Lyd. He was a 2019-20 Fellow at the Harvard Divinity School. As a journalist, he mainly wrote for the online magazine +972 and served as both writer and editor of its Hebrew sister site, “local call”, a journalistic project he co-founded, designed to challenge Israeli mainstream journalism outlets. Rami served as a parliamentary consultant and media spokesperson for Palestinian member of Knesset (Israeli parliament) Haneen Zoabi. Rami is also co-founder and manager of the first ever “Palestine Music Expo”: an event that connects local Palestinian music scene to the world wide industry. Younis was the host of the Arabic-language daily news show, “On the Other Hand." Lyd is a feature-length, sci-fi documentary that shares multiple pasts, presents, and futures of the city of Lyd in Palestine/Israel. From the perspective of the city herself, voiced by Palestinian actress Maisa Abd Elhadi, the viewer is guided through the lifespan of a five-thousand-year-old city and its residents. Lyd was once a thriving Palestinian city with a rich history. In 636AD, It was even considered the first capital of Palestine. When the State of Israel was founded in 1948, Lyd became an Israeli city, and in the process, hundreds of Lyd’s Palestinian residents were massacred by Israeli forces, and most of the city’s 50,000 Palestinian residents were exiled. Today, the city has a Jewish Israeli majority and a Palestinian minority and is disinvested and divided by racism and violence. For Palestinians, Lyd’s story is a painful and tragic fall from grace, which is why the film dares to ask the question: what would the city be like had the Israeli occupation of Lyd never happened? **Please support The Katie Halper Show ** For bonus content, exclusive interviews, to support independent media & to help make this program possible, please join us on Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/thekatiehalpershow Get your Katie Halper Show Merch here! https://katiehalper.myspreadshop.com/all Follow Katie on Twitter: @kthalps

Then Jody McIntyre joins to talk about why he's running for MP for Birmingham Yardley. Jody McIntyre is a candidate for Parliament under George Galloway's Workers Party of Britain. He is the sole independent candidate running in the Birmingham-Yardley constituency, located in the city of Birmingham, England, against the Labour Party's Jess Phillips, who is a member of Labour Friends of Israel and is likely to become a minister in the new government, if she wins re-election Birmingham-Yardley. Jody has cerebral palsy and is a lifelong activist, focused on Palestine, disability-rights, and education. He converted to Islam as a young adult and has lived in Palestine multiple times, including being there on the day of the October 7th attacks. In 2010, he was the subject of national-news coverage when he was dragged out of his wheelchair by police multiple times while participating in mass protests against budget cuts and tuition hikes. He then lived in Israel in his 20’s working as a pianist in a luxury hotel. Rich’s change of heart began as a spiritual awakening, by which he came to see that Jewish tribal identity and the state of Israel were worshipped as idols. Then he became acquainted with Zionism’s crimes against humanity, which contradicted the Zionist narrative he grew up with. Organizing demonstrations against Zionist activity in the northern New Jersey suburbs where he lives, Rich’s activism hit a high note when a talk he gave in front of the Teaneck town council went viral. Recently Rich was fired from a teaching job at a local music school due to a pro-Palestine Facebook post. He is director of Deir Yassin Remembered, a pro-Palestine charity and activist organization.
