The most priceless thing that any of us have is time.

Time is the currency of life, and it's limited. Once you spend it, you never get it back.

In many ways, every day you live is like a dollar. It's meant to be used wisely. You're going to

spend it one way or another. You can waste it, but you ought to invest it. We come today in our

discussion of stewardship and the stewardship

of time to one of the great passages Paul wrote to the believers in Ephesus. In Ephesians

chapter 5, verse 15, we read these words, see then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise.

Here it is.

Ephesians 5, verse 16, redeeming the time because the days are evil.

In other words, you have a certain amount of time allotted to you, and you're a steward of it,

and once it's gone, you never get it back.

Years ago, someone wrote, the clock of life is wound but once, and no man has the power

to tell just when the hands will stop at late or early hour.

To lose one's wealth is sad indeed.

To lose one's health is more, but to lose one's soul is

such a loss that no man can restore. In other words, you have to look at life and the clock of life

in light of eternity. Queen Victoria at the end of her life was reported to have said, I would give all my money

for one moment of time. You see, we typically quote Ephesians chapter 5 in verse number 16,
