This case took a crazy turn for me last night and before we get into it, I need to give you

a little bit of backstory. If you've been watching for a while, you know now that Sinister

has a researcher, a writer. I used to do all of this stuff on my own and I mean, these are really

intricate cases. I needed a bit of help. So we have a team that helps us put everything together,

but I handpick all of these cases just for various

reasons. And a couple weeks ago, I was interested in the Jim and Mitchell case. Now, I had heard

about this case from maybe a podcast or a TV show or something, and I couldn't rack my brain around

it because there's always a question of why did this happen? You guys know in Sinister, my goal is to figure out why did this happen in the first place?

I don't like to do cases where it's like, ooh, this person was just scary.

This was bad.

They were born bad from the jump.

No, I need to know what happened.

And if you're like me, maybe you do too.

So when I first started reading over

this case, there's almost 30 pages of research and I'm halfway through and I cannot understand

for the life of me why did Gemma do this? I get all the way to the end, still puzzled. I absolutely

do not understand why Gemma did this. It seems like one of those cases where the person is just

born bad and they're very demented. And then the other day, I decided to look back into this.

Now, my researcher aggregates a lot of information. They also include videos, articles, things

like that that I should be looking over to get the full breadth of the case. And then, last night,

I clicked on a video that made everything snap into place for me. I've been debating if when I present this story to you,

do I give you this piece of information in the very beginning or do I put it at the end? Because
