I'm good mate. How are you? Yeah really good. First of all,

mate thanks for coming on the show. Oh thank you for having me. Ex prison officer.

I am. One of the UK's most notorious prisons, strange ways for over 10 years, working with some serious criminals,

serial killers, rapists, you've seen a lot of bad stuff inside and out, but we'll go right back to the start, Sam, kind of where you grew up and how it all began for you.

Right, me, born and bred in Sheffield.

As far back as I can remember, my mom was on her own from me being about four, my sister

been about two, Tony, my dad would call him Tony because a dad is somebody who's there for a year and he never was so Tony suits.

Mums struggled to bring us up. We saw me Granddad and Grandma and Granddad Tony's mom and his sister they were

really good to us until they passed but you know we had a lot of lovers kids

and I've seen people in your podcast who've had some horrendous

childhoods. We didn't have a lot of stuff you know if you need a pair of shoes

for school then you're on your arse flat for a month do you know what I mean?

My mom went we out but we had loads of love. We had quite a big family like he did then, you know,

one of my N-s sisters, my hands freely used to bake and stuff like that for everybody.

And it was, I think it was a quite happy childhood but the thing that

that sticks out most was you please and thank you's respecting your elders

opening doors for women and that sort of thing you know I mean that that was instilled into us.

If you go to somebody's house

and the office is something except it even if you don't like it that sort of thing.
