Professor Ryan, you are chair of the Migration Law Network.

Professor Ryan has recently held a British academic fellowship in 2016, 2017,

in relation to his research on employment law in a time of migration. He has explored the

indications of Brexit for the common travel area and for immigration rule, including the impact of Brexit on current EU residents.

And it has also been researching the current and truly concerning EU migration crisis.

And the topic of your talk today is the EU border crisis questions for international migration.

I should say that Brexit is all over my thoughts, despite the word not appearing anywhere in the slides. The last time I was in Cambridge was the daily Brexit referendum campaign started.

There was an event at the centre, which I was involved in.

And the last time I spoke, the last two times I spoke on this topic were two and a half years ago on the 25th of June 2016

And the significance of those dates are the days after the referendum.
