I recently received a message from someone that said, I've made mistakes in my life,

and I'm trying to learn how to deal with them.

What are some helpful ways to deal with it?

My soul's immediate response was, take ownership and apologize.

So with that being said, I thought I used this episode to highlight how empowering an

apology can be.

We're all taught at a very young age that an apology is the best way to mend a relationship.

When my nephews do something wrong to each other, my sister encourages them to apologize

to one another and resolve whatever conflict has risen, so that way they can get back to

playing and enjoying their day.

Think about how many times as a child you were asked to do that.

Although it may have been for something childlike like snatching your sibling's toy, it's

still a very grown-up way to handle conflict.

As adults, sometimes we lose sight of how simple I'm sorry.

Cannot only benefit the other person's life, but our own.

When we don't feel called to apologize, it's because our egos get in the way.

We don't want to admit that we've done something wrong and we're acting defensive, trying

to protect our own pride.

Who does that really serve?
