Choose a horror movie each week to rate and review.

I'm Ashvin, and I'm on the phone with Brian.

And this week, we're going to be talking about the 2024 film, The Substance, written and directed by Coralie, Farja, and starring Demi Moore, Margaret

Qualley, and Dennis Quaid.

In this film, an actress decides to dabble in some non-FDA-approved therapeutics in order

to revive her youth.

If you're new to our show, Brian and I are going to talk about the background of this movie

for the first 10 to 15 minutes, then we'll take a quick break where you're going to hear

some music, and then we'll come back to talk about the plot, spoil the film, and review it.

Brian, I'm glad we're finally over the hump of sequel September, which was a fun month.

But I feel like it kind of put us behind on a lot of new releases that have come out over the last few weeks.

How are you feeling getting back on the ball with new releases here?

Strangely, I wasn't looking forward to sequel September, but I bemoan the loss of it.

I'm glad we stuck with it.

And I think some of the listeners are too.

But yeah, we also there's just so many new releases at this time of year.

It's just hard to get to them all.

Oddity is a film I wish we had been able to cover.
