gonna be talking a little bit about victimization, mindsets, and forgiveness.

So I hope tonight's talk will be of some benefit.

Throughout much of human history,

we tried to attain social acceptance and status by trying to fit in at all costs.

Concealing our differences,

wounds or traumas or losses, but pretty much anything that could set us apart was rarely disclosed.

Often hidden with some effort.

My parents were both born right off. The both from

Eastern Europe and both took considerable efforts to hide their backgrounds, ethnic identities, changing names.

My mom got speech lessons, facial work done to create an appearance that looked more in tune with what she thought the social ideal was, to assimilate, to fit in, look and sound and to hide anything

that would make us appear strange or different or even wounded harmed.

But today, there's a notable shift, a growing array of research demonstrates a shift towards claiming victimhood, seeking attention

due to specifically one's trauma and suffering,
